This week, Year 6 visited SafetyWorks in Newcastle for an incredibly valuable, hands-on safety workshop.
The children tackled real-life scenarios to help them make smart, safe choices as they grow more independent:
Age of Criminal Responsibility: Understanding the law, rights and choices as they grow older.
Peer Pressure: Learning how to stand strong, say no and make independent decisions.
Water Safety: Crucial advice on staying safe around open water and hazards.
Approaching Dogs: Practising how to read canine body language and approach dogs safely.
Emergency Calls: Practising placing a real 999 call so they know exactly what to do in a crisis.
Road Safety: Essential tips for navigating roads safely as independent pedestrians.
Our pupils represented the school wonderfully - listening carefully, asking great questions and putting our PSHE curriculum into practice!
Well done, Year 6!
