Citizen Geographers in Action!
As part of their geography topic on rivers and Sustainable Development Goal 6, Year 4 completed some brilliant fieldwork at Horton Burn last week!
Following last year's #GreatUKWaterBlitz results, the children used their map reading skills to plot a route, collect water samples and test them back at school using kits from Earthwatch Europe.
Unfortunately, the test results revealed that water quality hasn't improved, with checks on The Rivers Trust website showing further sewage releases over the summer. Year 4 were appalled, and will be sharing their findings with the relevant authorities!
