MUSIC

The Music highly skilled music specialist supports all staff with the teaching of music across the school and teaches lessons in Key Stage 2.

The curriculum is designed so that pupils first develop their understanding of rhythm and melody, initially through using their voices and percussion. They then move on and every child in school has the opportunity to play a musical instruments                 (tuned/untuned)  as part of their normal music lessons. We encourage all pupils to take up additional music lessons if they would like to. These include guitar, keyboard, violin, drums. We know that this can be costly for parents so we’ve made strong links with local teachers and support pupils who are interested by keeping costs to an absolute minimum and using the pupil Premium Grant for those children eligible.

As well as the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, we also have our very own choir that includes pupils from across Key Stage 1 and 2.
