Effective Date: September 2026
Eligibility: Our extended childcare and 2-year-old provision is open to pupils currently enrolled at Burnside Primary School and Nursery and Budding Explorers.
Registration: A completed and signed Registration Form (including emergency contact details and medical history) must be on file before a child's first session.
Accuracy: Parents/Carers are responsible for notifying the school immediately of any changes to contact details, medical conditions, or authorised collectors.
Pre-Booking Requirement: All sessions must be booked in advance via the School Money App. We cannot accept "drop-ins" to ensure we maintain legal adult-to-child ratios.
Payment: Payment is required at the time of booking to secure a place.
Vouchers & TFC: Where Childcare Vouchers or Tax-Free Childcare are used, funds must be transferred to the school at least 5 working days prior to booking to allow for bank clearance and manual credit to your School Money account.
Debt Management: The school reserves the right to withdraw a child’s place if fees remain unpaid for more than 5 days.
24-Hour Rule: Cancellations must be made via the School Money App or by notifying the school office at least 24 hours prior to the session start time.
Refunds: Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice will be credited to your School Money account.
Sickness/Non-Attendance: No refunds or credits will be issued for sessions missed due to child illness or general non-attendance, as staff costs are fixed once the session is rostered.
Punctuality: Children must not be dropped off before 7:30 am. All children must be collected by the end of their booked slot (4:15 pm, 5:15 pm, or 6:00 pm).
Late Collection Fees: As a school-run service, we must pay staff for overtime. A late fee of £5.00 for every 15 minutes (or part thereof) will be charged for any child collected after 6:00 pm.
Authorised Persons: Children will only be released to persons named on the registration form. If an unauthorised person is collecting, the school must be notified in advance and a "password" system will be used.
Illness: In line with Public Health England, children who have suffered from vomiting or diarrhoea must not attend the provision until 48 hours after the last episode.
Medication: Staff will only administer prescribed medication upon completion of a "Consent to Administer Medicine" form.
Food & Allergies: We provide a healthy snack. Parents are responsible for providing a home-packed tea if they wish their child to eat a meal after 4:00 pm. We are a Nut-Free School; please ensure all packed items are safe for all children.
Conduct: We follow the Burnside Primary School Behaviour Policy. We reserve the right to exclude a child from the provision if their behaviour consistently endangers themselves or others.
Safeguarding: All staff are trained in Child Protection. Any concerns regarding a child’s welfare will be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in accordance with school policy and local authority guidelines.
The school does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of personal items, toys, or electronic devices brought into the provision. We strongly recommend all clothing is clearly labelled.
