Thank you for considering Burnside Nursery for your child’s early education. We welcome children into our setting from their third birthday until they reach school age.
Because we manage our own admissions process rather than using the Local Authority, we are able to work closely with families to ensure a smooth, personal induction into our school community.
Please read this important notice before applying:
The Reception Place Disclaimer: Burnside Nursery handles its own admissions for nursery places. Please be aware that securing a place for your child in our Nursery does not guarantee them a place in the main primary school (Reception class). Applications for Reception must be made separately through the Local Authority at the appropriate time.
We offer two distinct pathway options to support your family’s routine and childcare needs. Both options operate with a "soft start" in the morning to allow children to settle happily into their day.
Ideal for families utilising the universal 15-hour funding block or those wanting a gentle introduction to the school environment.
Morning Drop-Off: Gates open at 8:50 am for a 9:00 am start.
Collection Time: Children are collected at 12:00 noon.
Perfect for working parents or families utilising the 30-hour funding block.
Morning Drop-Off: Gates open at 8:50 am for a 9:00 am start.
Afternoon Collection: Gates open at 2:50 pm for a 3:00 pm finish.
All three and four-year-old children in England are entitled to government-funded early education. At Burnside Nursery, we accept both the 15-hour and 30-hour funding streams.
Universal 15 Hours Funding Every single child automatically qualifies for 15 hours of funded childcare per week during term time, starting from the term after their third birthday. This perfectly covers our 15-Hour Session (9:00 am – 12:00 noon).
Extended 30 Hours Funding Many working parents are eligible for an additional 15 hours of funding, bringing the total to 30 hours per week during term time. This covers our All-Day Session (9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
Checking Your Eligibility: To find out if you qualify for the 30-hour working parent entitlement, please visit the official government website at [Childcare Choices]. If eligible, you will need to provide your 11-digit eligibility code to the school office.
We aim to make our admissions process as straightforward as possible.
Visit Us: We highly recommend booking a nursery tour with Mrs Williams, Deputyhead Teacher to see our fantastic environment in action.
