I am pleased to share with you some wonderful news about a recent event at Burnside Primary School that has highlighted the exceptional work being done within our Special Needs department, particularly in the area of Speech and Language.

 

Mrs. Burnip, our Special Needs Leader, extended an invitation to colleagues from various schools across North Tyneside to visit our school today. The purpose of this visit was to showcase the outstanding practices we have implemented, especially those concerning speech and language development.

 

During the visit, Mrs. Burnip presented the remarkable work that Mrs. Bussey and Miss Hedley carry out with our students in our dedicated Speech and Language room. It was an opportunity for our guests to observe the positive environment and the tailored support provided to each child.

 

The feedback we received from our colleagues was nothing short of exceptional. Their commendations serve as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our staff. In fact, one of the visitors was so impressed that she has requested a follow-up visit to further her understanding as part of her ongoing studies in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

 

On behalf of us all, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to both Mrs. Burnip, Mrs. Bussey and Miss Hedley for their extraordinary commitment and the significant impact they have made in this area. Their efforts have not only enhanced the learning experience of many children but have also set a benchmark for excellence within our community.

 

I am proud to have such dedicated professionals on our team, and we look forward to continuing our journey in providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our children.
