We are excited to announce that the children of Burnside are invited to take part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 12th December 2024.
This fun and festive day is part of the UK’s biggest Christmas party, and we would love for all the children to join in by wearing their Christmas jumpers!
In support of this wonderful cause, we ask for a £1 donation for Save the Children, which will go towards helping children around the world.
If your child has outgrown their Christmas jumper and you would like to donate it, please feel free to bring it into school. We will happily accept any donations of jumpers that can be passed on to other children who may need one.
Let’s make this Christmas Jumper Day extra special and help create lasting change for children in need.
We look forward to seeing the children in their festive jumpers and thank you for your support!
A quick reminder that Thursday 5th is our school Christmas Lunch Day! Children are invited to wear their own clothes, and they are welcome to wear a Christmas jumper if they wish to join in the festive spirit.
The lunch menu has already been shared, and we are pleased to inform you that we have added a Halal turkey/chicken option for those who require it. As a diverse school with families from a range of cultures and religions, we invite everyone to join us in our Christmas celebration, just as we celebrate other religious festivals such as Diwali and Eid. We aim to celebrate all our cultures together.
We look forward to celebrating this special day with the children!
Last week, Mrs. Willis and I had a productive meeting with colleagues to help us create an action plan aimed at meeting the zero carbon goal by 2030. I am delighted to share that the work we have already done puts us in a fantastic position to move forward.
To continue improving, we will be working closely with the catering company to enhance how we dispose of food waste, analysing opportunities to further save on fuel costs, and implementing our planned uniform swaps to ensure we are doing as much as we can to contribute to this important goal.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support as we work towards a more sustainable future.
As we’ve entered December, we have lots of exciting things planned for the children! Please remember that you can use the calendar to set up reminders to help you keep track of important dates, such as your child’s class party, performance dates, Christmas lunch, and more. This will ensure you never miss out on any festive fun!
