On Wednesday 21st June we were delighted to welcome Chris Duke, the author of ‘Lucy’s  Blue Day’ to Burnside. Chris had travelled from Scotland to share his
life experiences with us in the morning and read his book.

Children from Year 1 up to Year 6 listened to Chris speak about how and why he became an author in our assembly time. Our children listened attentively and asked some amazing questions!

Chris said, “I have visited many schools throughout the U.K. and Burnside is oneof the BEST I have come across!!!

I can tell that the children are very thoughtful and caring”.
Chris was absolutely delighted with our children’s enthusiasm throughout the assembly and he could see the enjoyment on all of their faces.

Chris had to travel to Birmingham after our assembly but he made some time to visit Reception where he also read ‘Lucy’s Blue Day’.
We are so pleased that Chris had taken some time to come and visit us and we are thankful to Rachael Beattie for her help in contacting him.
