  • Macmillian Coffee Morning

    Fri 30 Sep 2022 Headteacher

    This morning's coffee morning was AMAZING!

    THANK YOU

    My wonderful staff stayed after work yesterday afternoon to set up the hall for you. We put out the number of tables and chairs to accommodate the number of people we hoped might come.

    We were thrilled that we had to quickly almost double the number of tables to accommodate you all.

    Then the wonderful children arrived and performed beautifully for us all. We all enjoyed coffee and cakes and the atmosphere in the school hall was simply fab.

    I felt we had at last returned to how things used be.... and it felt good.

    The icing on the cake was that we made £550 for the charity.

    Thank you everyone.

  • Nursery Starting Age and Starting Dates

    Wed 21 Sep 2022

    All three-year olds are entitled to 15 hours a week of education 38 weeks a year. Our Burnside Nursery is an ideal place for your child to begin their learning journey.

    When can they start?

    There are three slots in the year when children are enrolled: September 1, January 1 and April 1. Your child can start in the first slot after their third birthday (for example, if they turn three on February 6, they can start on April 1).

    As we currently have places in our Nursery we are currently offering parents the opportunity for their child to start as early as from the day after their 3rd birthday. Please note this is subject to availability.

    For further information please contact our school office.

  • Her Majesty the Queen

    Fri 09 Sep 2022

    Her Majesty the Queen

    It is with sadness that Buckingham Palace announced the death of Her Majesty the Queen, yesterday. For us:

    • school remains open to all pupils, as usual;
    • there is a period of national mourning until the end of the State Funeral;
    • we are expecting further information from the Cabinet Office and guidance from the Department of Education;
    • today, teachers will be led by pupils and their class. Teachers will spend time listening to the views of pupils and supporting any who are upset;
    • on Monday, our assemblies will focus on commemorating the life of the Queen;
    • we are ready to be flexible and adaptable as things change and more information is released.

    We will write to you again as further information is released.
