  • Golden Ticket Winner

    Tue 21 Jun 2022

You may remember last week we launched our Golden Ticket Reward System in assembly which created real excitement around school.

Children can be awarded a golden ticket for demonstrating any of our Core Values - Be Safe, Be Smart, Be Kind.

As the children enter the hall for assembly they place any golden tickets they have been awarded into a "hat" and one ticket will be drawn and a prize given awarded to that child.

I have been delighted by the number of Golden tickets that were awarded. The children have been showing us how polite, kind, well mannered and caring they are. This is a credit to you all as parents. Thank you.

Our first weekly winner was drawn on Monday and he won Cinema tickets. Well done !

  • Parental Survey Results - Nursery Stay and Play Day

    Fri 17 Jun 2022

I would like to thank all the parents who came along and spent some time in Nursery with their children. It felt great to welcome you back into school again.

After the sessions I send a short survey for parents to complete in order for us to have some feedback and consider if this event was deemed useful and should be incorporated  into our calendar of events.

The results from the online survey

    • 100% welcomed the opportunity to spend time in Nursery
    • 71% of you stated it was your first visit into nursery
    • 100% felt warmly welcomed into school by the staff
    • 100% stated their children were excited to have parents visit them in school
    • 100% felt after the visit they had a greater understanding as to what your child's learning looks like
    • 67% would like this event to be held termly and 33% would like it to be held annually.

Your feedback tells us this event was a great success and we can now look forward to planning the next "Stay and Play" event.

  • New Attendance Officer Role

    Fri 17 Jun 2022

I am delighted that Mrs Lawson is now our Burnside Attendance Officer.

You will recall I wrote to you to share our attendance expectations a short time ago. As you already know punctuality and good attendance are essential to achieving well in school.

Mrs Lawson will analyse our attendance data weekly and will be telephone parents in the first instance to bring to you attention your child's current attendance percentage ( if it falls significant below the expectation the government set of 95%). She will be offering support to make improvements should that be helpful.

In addition to this she will also be looking in depth into lateness as this also has a significant impact on children's learning. Once again she will be able to offer support should that be useful.

Please remember that Mrs Lawson is there to support you and your child.
